Hello Reader,
Welcome to SkyTechPark.
Today we will discuss the naming of viruses & why the Coronavirus named Novel Corona. First of all, we all know that currently, the world is going through a tough time. So, I suggest everyone take care of yourself, your family & your society. Take the initiatives which you find legit relating to the circumstances.

Now, let's come to the point. 'The Coronavirus, aka Novel Corona', where did it come from? What is it's treatment & how long we can survive these are the unrevealed questions. But we know why it is named Novel Corona Virus. You don't know? After reading this, you will see why this called Novel Corona.
The authority who gives the name of any virus is International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV). Generally, viruses are named based on their generic structure. Virologist and Scientist research and find the proper names for their structures. ICTV named the Coronavirus "severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)". This name is allocated for the virus because of its similarity with Coronavirus responsible for the SARS outbreak in 2003.

So, we now understand that Novel Corona is not the official name used by the medical authorities. In fact, this name was chosen before the research of this Coronavirus. The word "novel" indicates a "new pathogen of a previously known type of virus. WHO, in 2015, first started using the name for new infectious viruses. A study published by WHO claimed this virus name Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).
